07 JunA Journey to the Center of the Earth 16/52

Whew, I finally finished this book!  It wasn’t like it was a hard read.  I think it was easy to put down because I got sidetracked by so many other books that I really really wanted to read, you know?

This SciFi novel by Jules Verne was a pretty good adventure story involving three men, a professor, his assistant and nephew, and a guide who, you guessed it, set out to see what’s going on at the Earth’s core. Throughout the book I found myself wishing they would hurry up and get back to the Earth’s surface, safe and sound.  But then of course that would have been boring.

I would definitely read another Jules Verne novel.  Around the World in Eighty Days perhaps?

I’ve always been afraid to pick this up, mainly because I saw the old old movie when I was little and it freaked me out. To this day it still gives me chills thinking about it.

I do, however, have Around the World in 30 Days and am eager to read it at some point!
